Visit Greenland responsible for press relations

The world’s premier circumpolar sporting and culture event for youth, Arctic Winter Games 2016, is a chance to experience modern Greenland and Arctic cultures.

This time next year during March 6 - 12, Greenland’s capital Nuuk will create history by hosting the country’s biggest event of its kind to date, the Arctic Winter Games 2016.

Visit Greenland will take care of Press Relations during the event. This includes managing the Press Center during the games, and also providing interested media access to valuable stories and contacts that reach beyond the framework of the games.

Guest speakers will introduce topics ranging from education, Greenlandic food, to language and culture.

Daily press meetings will cover the highlights of AWG2016 but also different themes that may be of interest to media. To facilitate this, guest speakers will introduce topics ranging from education, Greenlandic food, to language and culture during press meetings each morning of the games.

Press will then be invited to join behind-the-scenes tours of relevant places of interest, such as factories, stores, educational and cultural institutes.

Many arctic cultures

Media who visit Greenland during this time will also have a chance to experience many different cultures in the Arctic. Contingents from Alaska, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Nunavik, Northern Alberta, Sapmi, Yamal and Greenland will come together for this event. There will be many sporting, cultural social exchanges and performances!

Nation building event

AWG2016 is so much more than just an event. It’s an opportunity to develop skills across many different industry and education levels. It is also a chance for the whole of Greenland to come together and cooperate together as one vehicle.

Visit Greenland looks forward to supporting this nation building event, and if you are interested in covering the AWG2016 please contact us.
