Google’s biggest advertising platform
DFP (DoubleClick for Publishers) is Google’s biggest advertising platform and Visit Greenland is going to start using it on its website. DFP is an industry standard, and it is used by some of the biggest worldwide companies like Mercedes Benz and Lancôme, just to name a few.
This means that Visit Greenland is phasing out its current advertising platform, TravelAds. This was our own custom-made system, which means it had little to no flexibility and a lot of maintenance.
Changing to the industry standard system allows us to tap into the newest technological opportunities.
The benefits of using DFP
Your customers will have a more direct access to your offers, since the ads will be leading directly from greenland.com to your website without any extra steps.
Ads will also be more segment-oriented; two people might be looking at the same page but seeing two different ads. The ad will be shown to the exact person already interested in the activity.
- The technical support system on DFP is top level, since we are far from the only ones using this platform. The platform will be maintained and supported not only by us at Visit Greenland but also by Google itself.
When can you expect the change
We are expecting to take the leap at the start of Q2.
Do you need to take action?
We are currently working on collecting the advertising material from the existing ads that you have on greenland.com. We are only collecting the ads that are set to be active in Q2 2017 and onwards. We are not taking action on any ads that will expire during Q1 2017.
Don’t worry, we are keeping an eye on your updates on your ads so that nothing will get lost in the new system.
What you need to do:
Log in to Travelds to see if any of your ads are expiring during Q1.
Renew any ads you want to continue to be active, as soon as possible.
